Description

As a black woman, It has been extremely frustrating to witness all the unjust killings of people that look exactly like me. I wanted to create a video compilation to show the frustration in the black community.
It has been a major shock and disappointment to be depleted of the very basic human right that is respect and protection in 2020. I gathered footage of the riots and protests to show how the issue affects not only the black community but all of America. Until all Americans are truly equal, America will not find peace. I started off the video with clips of the statue of liberty and a group of diverse people coexisting to show the ideals America has promised its people. I then added clips that contrasted the ideals with the riots to display the reality we live in today. I wanted the title to be provoking to allude that not much has changed since 1619 when slavery started.
